About This Item

Fourth Estate, London, 2002. First Edition. Softcover (Photographic). Very Good Condition. Illustrator: Photographic. Acknowledgements, list of illustrations, preface by author, appendix, notes and index. Between pages 132 and 133 there are 16 pages of black-and-white photographs. Photographic paperback binding with red, silver and white coloured titles to the front panel and black and white coloured titles to the back strip. On 23 May 1945 Heinrich Himmler committed suicide while in Allied hands at the end of World War II, or so history records. Then why did Kim Philby, at the time MI6s most talented secret agent, question this historical fact? The author, in this book, sets out to answer this question and " ... uncovered a maze of corruption, high finance, and political gamble and international intrigue." – from the rear panel blurb. A little rubbing of the book edges and panels with reading creases to the back strip. Very light tanning of the text block edges and pages, previous owners' rubber stamp to the verso of the half title page and to the lower edge of the title page (well-known Holocaust scholars). Some random scribble marks to the last page. Full number line. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [7], VIII - XII, [1], 2 - 276 pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
