Clean navy blue cloth on boards with copper coloured titles. Spine: light bumping into head & foot with couple of tiny rubbed cracks (not splits) to foot. Small bumping to head board front fore corner. Edges: top-edge now rubbed blue/green; moderate foxing. Eps: faint few only foxing. Frontis: General Baron Gourgaud, from a portrait probably painted about 1840. Few only pages with couple of old light foxing . B/w illustrations. Binding is VG+. 360p Dj:moderate soiling, rubbing and marks. Spine: top: missing 1cm with open tears, chips and creasing; foot: missing bottom 6cm with open tears and chips; tape repairs on inside. Head & foot of flaps spine with small open wear, tears and chips; old tape repair on inside; small hole to front flap spine with tape repair on inside. . Head & bottom edges with a couple of tears (open), chips, etc and tape repair on inside.. First Edition. Hb. VG/Good.
