Kharkiv Machine-Tool Building Plant - in the past the legendary Soviet plant, one of the flagships of Soviet mechanical industry, at present the plant building suffered damage during the ongoing war in Ukraine.

The labour propaganda brochure with striking avant-garde cover by unattributed artist was published in the series 'Stakhanovite's Library', which focused on editions devoted to Stankovite movement in USSR. The term Stakhanovite (after Alexey Stakhanov) emerged in USSR in 1935 and referred to highly productive workers (essentially the same as udarnik). The brochure describes everyday work and experience of Stankovites of the various manufactoring departments of the just put into operation Kharkov Machine-Tool Building Plant, thus urging others to work harder and more efficiently, thus strengthening the socialist state. Text is supplemented with statistical data, schemes and photographs.
