About This Item

Boulder: Muriel S. Wolle. Good+ with no dust jacket. 1959. Hardcover. Stated 8th Printing, April 1958. This hefty work, which first appeared in 1949, pays tribute to the hard-rock miners of Colorado. Profusely illustrated throughout by the author, Muriel Sibell Wolle, professor of Fine Arts at the University of Colorado. With maps to mining camps at endpapers and within the volume. The author self-published this work and personally shipped out orders for hundreds of copies of this longtime favorite work. --- In tan cloth-covered boards w/illustrations and titling in red on cover and spine. Lacks a dust jacket. --- With a postage stamp affixed to front paste-down, prior owner's bookplate affixed to verso of front free endpaper with blacked-over name, lightly faded spine and with partial splits at front and rear joints (which have little impact on the stability of the binding). Newsclip about the author and this book laid in. (NOTE: Due to the weight of this item, extra shipping charges may be requested for any shipment other than by USPS Media Mail in the US.); Small Quarto - 9 to 11 in. tall; (12), 544 pages .
