Joseph-Édouard Cauchon was a journalist, businessman, and politician in the middle years of the nineteenth-century. He held a variety of portfolios at the federal, provincial and municipal levels. In 1877 to 1882, Cauchon was appointed the third Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, replacing the retiring Alexander Morris.
