Frontispiece loosening. Endpapers browned, text has scattered foxing, but mostly clean. Previous owner's book-plate laid in (Paul Ashbee), with his signature in ink to front end paper. Reports of the Research Committee of the Society of Antiquaries of London No. XVII. The Stanwick earthworks, enclosing 850 acres of lowland in northern Yorkshire, are a remarkable and indeed unique complex representing at least four structural phases. Large format. Red cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos, illustrations and plans, some folding. Spine faded but gilt title still bright. Browning to endpapers. Else contents clean.
