About This Item
Np. No binding. Just About Fine. [New York: ca. 1966-1977]. Set of three (3) vintage original 8 x 10" (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white print still photos, two are double weight with photographer stamps on verso, one has mimeographed text affixed to verso, just about fine. Three portraits of the fiery African American activist and Black Power advocate Stokely Carmichael at the precise moment when he was most prominent. One shows him addressing a large crowd in Watts in 1966. Another, also from 1966, shows him with another great activist of the previous generation: Bayard Rustin. The final photo, with a holograph note indicating the photo was taken in February 1977 at the Loeb Center at NYU, again shows Carmichael aggressively orating.
