Collection of favorite tales for children at the turn of the 20th century, selected & edited by Walsh, based on input from children themselves, with a frontispiece + 7 lovely full-color, full-page illustrations by female artist Meta Grimball (1878-1968) throughout the 439 pages, Index in rear. Hardcover 12mo has burgundy cloth over boards blind stamped to front & spine with images from the stories. Lettered in gilt to front & spine. Condition is Near Fine, marred only by a few tiny rubbed areas to front board (causing slight color loss) & mild rubbing to extremities. Else, completely clean & bright, binding strong & straight, pages creamy white with mild tanning to edges. Color plates are pristine with bright, mildly tanned margins.
