A deluxe leatherbound reprint edition offering six groupings of stories by the great French author Alexandre Dumas (1802-1870). The stories are broken into shorter "substories". Rendered into English from the French by an unattributed translator. With illustrations by John Thompson. Includes a portrait of Dumas by Daniel Brown near front of volume. Issued as an entry in the publisher's Collected Stories of the World's Greatest Writers series. One of an unspecified number in this limited edition. --- Bound in rich full dark red bonded leather covers with four raised bands on spine. Spine titling, elaborate decorations to covers and spine, and textblock edges all in bright gilt. Interior leaves printed on high-quality papers. Red silk moire endpapers, with matching sewn-in satin ribbon bookmark. Volume lacks a dust jacket (as issued). --- A very nice copy but with slightly sunned spine, else bright and lacking additional damages or evidence of having been read.; Octavo (8 to 9 in. tall); (10), 385 pages .
