The history was mined from the records of "two old York County courts"; "one of them, the remarkable Court of General Sessions of the Peace, there is no modern counterpart." Laid-in is a column from the Biddeford Daily Journal, October 16, 1946 expressing appreciation for the history. The column has darkened the pages it lays between.
