The corners are a little bumped. The inner hinges are secure, and the text is clean, although toned. The Contents page has a brief chip at the bottom margin, not affecting the text. There is NO copyright notice in this book; the 1917 date is from the Preface. This is, however, an early printing and not a modern reprint.
