About This Item

1935 1935. Uncorrected Proof. Hardcover. VG. CORAH, A M. A privately printed possibly unique volume. 19 x 25.6 cm. Cloth backed paper covered boards, with gilt stamped titles to the spine, 27pp(3) consisting of a bound typed manuscript with a couple of short hand written sections and with a printed frontispiece, 6 watercolour illustrations 4 original songs, a number of pen and ink drawings and an invitation to The Annual Toys Ball tipped in at the end. The book is essentially by a small boy known as 'Podgie' and concerns his adventures at the 'Annual Toys' Ball'. Signed by the author on the title page. The boards which are now covered in a removable, rigid clear cover have some rubbing to the edges and corners and light mottling to the boards Internally there is occasional spotting, most significantly to the 2 pages of music at the rear. This book appears to be a young child's tale that has been turned into a proper book. I can find no evidence that any other copies were ever produced and it may be that this was something intended for a family only. However the same writer and illustrator combined to produce a book called Dryads and Other Tales published by Frederick Warne in 1936. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
