London & New York: Blackie & Son : Dodge Publishing. Fair. 1911. First Edition. Hardcover. Color Illustrations; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 36 pages; [1911] Blackie & Son : Dodge Publishing. HC in original pictorial paper covered boards. 1st edition presumed. Paper over spine perished and lacking; boards toned and lightly soiled. Boards hanging on but tenuously attached. Front endpaper missing. First page of the story has a long tear that was tape mended by the prior owner and the following page has a large piece reattached to the front corner with the same tap. About 5 to 6 leaves with corners chipped or short closed edge tears. Each page features bordered text in the bottom 1/4 of the page and 3/4 top a color illustration by Pope. Really a breaker or a careful reading copy only. Fair at best .
