London: Nisbet and Co, c1937. Cloth. Good. 6" by 4.5". Not Stated. A pocket sized, illustrated children's work by popular author Helen Bannerman. Illustrated throughout. Bannerman is best known for her work 'Little Black Sambo'. Bannerman wrote many children's works on Indians and their culture. This work deals with the danger of tigers. Although they were first celebrated, 'Sambo' became a slur on people of colour, resulting in the books to often be blacklisted In original cloth binding. Externally, marked to the front and rear boards. Spots to the rear board. Minor bumping to the head and tail of spine as well as to the extremities. Prior owner's inscription to the title page, Ruper Stolarft. Internally, generally firmly bound though strained in places. Pages are generally bright with occasional spots to pages. Good
