About This Item

New York: Grosset & Dunlap Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). Later Printing.. "With her letters (1887-1901) and a supplementary account of her education including passages from the reports and letters of her teacher, Anne Mansfield Sullivan, by John Albert Macy. Blue cloth binding bright with black cover and spine lettering. Very Rare, especially with a signed typwriten letter on Helen Keller's NYC address letterhead, dated November 16, 1942 in which she writes about wartime and the struggle of the blind, The American Foundation for the Blind. 441 pages, no publication date on the copyright page, possibly 1954 Photos available upon request. The book itself is not signed, only the letter. The signature on the letter complies with all the points recently viewed on The History Channel. It's pencil, not ink as her use of ink at times created staining and an uneven result. She never had secretarial signatures used with her correspondence. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Her other works include Optimism (1903), The World I Live In (1908), and The Song of the Stone Wall (1910). Keller died in Westport, Connecticut, in 1968.
