Arthur Conan Doyle contributes the complete serializations of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (twenty-four parts in volumes II - VII, illustrated by Sidney Paget) and The Exploits of Brigadier Gerard (seven parts in volumes IX and X, illustrated by W.B. Wollen). He also contributes: ''The Voice of Science'', 'An Alpine Pass on ''Ski'' ', ''The Lord of Chateau Noir'' and ''The Medal of Brigadier Gerard''. Other contributors include: E.W. Hornung, Walter Besant, Arthur Morrison, Bret Harte, Rudyard Kipling, Grant Allen, Jules Verne, Dick Donovan, Sarah Bernhardt, Phyllis Bentley, M.P. Shiel, L.T. Meade et al. Numerous black and white illustrations by various artists. All edges of volume one gilt. All edges of other volumes speckled.Front inner hinge of volume X splitting. Most other volumes with renewed endpapers. Sporadic foxing. Some rubbing and bumping to covers. Very good.
