New York: Basic Books, 1959. Hardcover . Used - very good. sm 8vo; 226pp. No DJ. A square tight copy with unmarked text. A strong case can be made for this being an association copy. It is inscribed by Jack Shaffer, who we presume to be John H. (Jack) Shaffer, FAA Administrator, 1969-1973, and inscribed to John (Young?), astronaut, the ninth person to walk on the Moon as Commander of the Apollo 16 mission in 1972. We believe this was inscribed to Young during his early training (2/19/62), especially as read in context, 'It really isn't made of cheese and I hope you are the first there with Apollo. Good luck and happy re-scheduling'.
