About This Item

ohn Miles Ltd, Amen Corner, London EC4, 1936 201 pages. 22x14 cm. 64 Moholy images of London's street markets captured in rich gravure. Inscription of previous owner in neat hand "Hilda Shaw, 30 Lyndale Avenue NW8" on front free end paper. Some marks to the boards and a small incision to the oatmeal cloth of about 5mm. László Moholy-Nagy, 1895-1946, was a Hungarian painter and photographer as well as a professor in the Bauhaus school. He was highly influenced by constructivism and a strong advocate of the integration of technology and industry into the arts. The New York Times called him "relentlessly experimental" and he fled Nazi Germany to the UK in 1935 when he took the photos for this book. Mary Benedetta in 1941 wrote the Script for the film "19 Metre Band"; in 1942 directed the film "Blitz Wash"; in 1946 wrote the Scenario for "General Election"; and in 1949 adapted the scenario for "Bait". .. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good.

About Camden Lock Books, ABA, IOBA.

My online bookselling is Camden Lock books. I own Camden Lock Books & list books that are uncommon, in demand and may be hard to find.

My book expertise came with four years as Chairman of London P.B.F.A. , many more years of exhibiting at monthly London Rare Book Fairs & owning my own bookshops continuously since 1984.

Every book here was valued by the person who first bought it and will be just as prized by the person who buys it now from my shopping website.

I am an accredited professional & a full member of the ABA, ILAB and the IOBA, "Setting the standard. The books you want...from booksellers you can trust".

You can meet me on my stand at Firsts 2024, London's Rare Book Fair, at the Saatchi Gallery, London SW3 4RY, 16-19 May 2024.
I also am joint owner of Burley Fisher Books , an independent bookshop offering new and secondhand books.
