London: The Studio Ltd, 1899. A special copy bound in original green cloth with gilt title to front board, bevelled edges, original cover bound in to the rear, in fine condition. "Written, designed & contrived by members of the Art Workers' Guild and finally presented by them in the Guildhall of the City of London ..on the Twenty-Ninth Day of June, Eighteen Hundred and Ninety-Nine" . 44pp text 58 plates both colour and b/w. Authors of the Masque were C.R. Ashbee, Walter Crane, Selwyn Image, Harrison Townsend, C.W. Whall and harry Wilson, each's monogram appaering opposite the parts composed by him. The volume was printed by Ashbee for the Guild at the Press of the Guild of Handicrafts, Essex House, the wood-blocks for the decorativeinitials designed by Ashbee. Laid in an advert for the specials of which this is one, indicating it is limited to 250 copiesThis is a most handsome volume an apotheosis of the Arts and Crafts movement.. Special Edition.
