Roy8vo, 467pp. Hardcover in grey cloth boards with gilt pattern on front and embossed title on spine with minor brown discolouration to upper part of front board, blue top edge as published and price-clipped d/w with slightly faded spine and light soiling of free edges now protected by clear archival covering and in overall good condition with a firm tight spine, text in very good condition with no prior owner notations present. This book is one of the very best comprehensive histories of art "of style" with seven specialist contributors and categories of Antiquity, Early Christian Art, Byzantine Art, Early Medieval Art and Renaissance Art etc through to The Modern Age including WWII to the 1960's. It has 873 b/w illustrations and photographs printed on quality glossy paper stock with of course copious explanations and comment.
