Useful legal vade mecum, covering subjects as diverse as sheep, gaming, ale houses, hats, and seditious meetings. There were four editions before 1827. London: Printed for J. Hatchard, 1808. Henry James Pye 20 February 1745 - 11 August 1813) was an English poet. In 1784 he was elected Member of Parliament for Berkshire. He was obliged to sell the paternal estate however, and, retiring from Parliament in 1790, became a police magistrate for Westminster.Thereafter, his most notable work was the title we have here. This is the uncommon First edition of 1808. Now recased, in grey cloth boards, with gilt titles to spine New end papers and pastedowns. xvi, 188, appendix; [14] p. : forms ; index, . 19 cm.
