Boston, MA: Little, Brown, and Co, 1927. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. des Rosiers dustjacket artwork. Bright blue cloth over boards, title and decorations stamped in orange onto upper cover and spine, 8vo (7-7/16 inches tall), pp. 340, top edge stained orange. Volume w. spine ends slightly softened. Price intact DJ very slightly, and evenly rippled around center (matching perhaps an original publisher's belly band), lightly soiled back panel, light edge wear and a few small chips to edges, some fading to spine panel. A novel of China, written by a Canadian who "has been steeped in Chinese tradition from his youth. ... Only one familiar with Chinese life in its most intimate details could have written it." With the beautiful wrap-around deco des Rosiers jacket artwork still bright and attractive.
