No Location: Privately Printed, 1929. First American [pirated] and Numbered Ed . Cloth-backed Dec.Paper Boards. Very Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Privately Printed / No Location. 1929. Number 13 of 500 made; pirated and unexpurgated first American edition, taken from the true unexpurgated first edition by Black Sun Press in Paris. Octavo, 44 pp. Decorative boards with brown cloth back. Special imported handmade Ingres paper and the type distributed. Light shelf wear, corners showing a bit; Very Good Plus or better, with corners and spine ends just very lightly touched. See scan. Very scarce D.H. Lawrence first edition. The "revolutionary poet of desire" published the true unexpurgated first edition of his short erotic piece, SUN, in Paris in 1928. This 1929 edition, taken from that without license and thus unnamed as to place and publisher, is the true unexpurgated American first edition, licensing aside. In handsome condition, with a low number (" 1 and 3 "13" "[of 500]). Hard to find. L-38n
