About This Item

New York, Charles Scribner's Sons, 1926. . First edition, first printing, first issue with 'stoppped' on p181; 8vo; some age-toning, else unmarked internally; publisher's black cloth, gold paper title labels to upper board and spine printed in black, some scuffing to labels, spine label darkened, cloth slightly marked, slight edge-wear, else very good.
The correct first issue (with the misprint) of the true first printing of one of the greatest American novels ever published. Set between the cafés of Paris and the streets of Pamplona, Hemingway's finest novel focuses on the bittersweet exploits of a group of American expatriates in the aftermath of the First World War.

Synopsis

This was the one book I never read from EH. I have to say it is an outstanding achievement of the human experience. What a book! Finishing it gives you a feeling of what's real, eternal and why our lives are full of contradictions.

This book is a classic for any shelf. I recommend starting out with this story if you're not familiar with Hemingway's work.
