A reissue of John Fisher's 1680 survey of Whitehall, showing Scotland Yard, Horse Guards, and the River Thames. The Palace of Whitehall was the main residence of the English monarchs from 1530 until 1698, now the site of the Houses of Parliament , Scotland Yard and the various ministries etc. (Adams, 36, 63).
