MacGibbon & Kee, London, 1967. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/Good. index of names and index of songs. Brown speckled coloured boards with maroon insert on the spine and within the insert, gilt coloured titles. Red coloured tint to the top text edge. Illustrated dust wrapper, showing various people in profile, against a black coloured background with white and red coloured titles on the front panel and spine. A history of the popular music of England between 1840 to 1920 as sung and performed in the music halls. Shelfwear to the lower book edges and a little rubbing to the book corners. A small stain to the lower edge of the front panel. Offset tanning and browning to the endpapers and internal pages have become quite aged toned. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right hand corner of the front paste down. Rubbing and chipping, with loss, to the dust wrapper corners and to the head and to the heel of the spine. There is a 1.25 " tear to the top rear spine gutter edge and a similar tear to the front gutter edge. There is a tear measuring 2 " to the top left-hand corner of the rear dust wrapper panel. A few small tears to the lower dust wrapper edge. The dust wrapper panels have become rubbed and faded and the back panel has become yellowed and grubby. Clipping of the dust wrapper, front fold over, lower right hand corner. This is the first UK edition. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 160 pages,. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
