Society of Antiquities, London, 1745. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Recently rebound in full dark brown leather with blind decoration on the front, raised bands, a red spine-label and gilt lettering and simple decoration on spine, hand-written reference number near base of spine. Sound binding. Marbled end-papers and additional plain end-papers are new. Original starts with title-page and finishes with last page of text. Pages are clean (probably the version with "coarse" paper referred to in the English Short Title Catalogue) and this volume does not contain plates. Full title of first part is "A Table of English Silver Coins From the Norman Conquest to the Present Time. With Their Weights, intrinsic Values And Some Remarks upon the several Pieces" and published (first edition) in 1745. Full title of Second Part is "A Table of English Gold Coins From the Eighteenth Year of King Edward the Third, when Gold was first coined in England, to the Present Time. With Their Weights and intrinsic Values" reprinted in London in1745. 161, [1], 12. No dust jacket, as published. Stamps for Halifax Antiquarian Society and "Withdrawn" stamp on front end-papers and prelims. Pages of main text and plates (including reverse of plates) are free from stamps.
