About This Item
S.F. Teich, 2016-01-01. Paperback. Good. 2016 S.F. Teich (Houston, Texas), 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches tall trade paperback in color pictorial covers, copiously illustrated with black-and-white photographs, [4], 250 pp. Slight soiling, rubbing and edgewear to covers, with substantial 'cover curl' to the front cover at the fore edge. Slight soiling to page edges. Otherwise, apart from a few creased page tips, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked - of this rare memoir. Not in OCLC. ~SP02~ [1.5P] The invasion of French North Africa on November 8, 1942 was the first action of World War II by U.S. ground forces against the European Axis. The beaches of Morocco and Algeria and the rugged mountains and barren wastes of Tunisia were the testing grounds for combat forces and the medical troops that supported them in the field and behind the lines. A young pilot and nurse found themselves in the middle of the strategically important Operation Torch. This is their story.
