Cloth, VG. 255pp, colour frontis, 3 colour plates all by Fedden, Times obituary of the author pasted to the endpaper, slight foxing, spine a trifle faded, but otherwise a near fine copy. A novel by the French author & naval office Loti which is set in the Basque area of the Pyrenees, tells of smugglers & is considered one of his best novels.
