LONDON: THOMAS TEGG, 1839 Dark Green Cloth Boards with gilt blocked titles and decs to spine, gilt blocked floral display to front and blind blocked decorations to both boards, 140 x 115 mm approx. xii + 500 pp Steel engraved illustration to title page and many other unspecified engravings in text. First Edition 1839. Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale for further details and condition. A very informative teaching aid for the older child with questions set at chapter ends. VG (Restoration work carried out by us. Recently re backed, spine re-glued with p.v.c and new mull and back strip applied. Re-cased with best match cloth, original spine cloth laid on and plain new end papers fitted. Wear to cloth at corner tips. Book block- previous owner name, address and date in ink to half title, black ink splash to top edge, quadrant loss to corners of 3 leaves - no loss of text, occasional light finger soiling and a couple of marginal tears. No other notable defects).
