Moderate rubbing and edgewear to covers, corners, and edges of boards. Rubbing, dust-spotting, and heavy foxing to all-gilt edges of text block. Discoloration to edges of silk moire endpapers. Foxing to endpapers, and occasional faint foxing to pages throughout, otherwise pages are free of marks and notation. Staining to silk ribbon placemaker. Binding is sound. An admittedly worn but still quite handsome limited edition of this collection of this collection of stories by Henry James.

Bound in fine full textured tan leather over boards, featuring elaborate gilt lettering, rules and ornamentation to the spine and boards; five raised bands to spine, six compartments, textured dark-gray silk moire endpapers, like silk ribbon-marker, all edges gilt. Charming black-and-white illustrations throughout. Extremities, and contents entirely without blemish. Appears unread; as new. A most handsome presentation indeed. Not to be mistaken with some earlier, and later printings which are not bound in real leather but a leather substitute (faux leathrette).
