Front panel features scrolled titles and mounted color plate of Arthur Rackham: "Ganymede assumed the forward manners often seen in youths when they are between boys and men". Note: "The Publishers make no apology for a new edition of this "evergreen" book. They feel that the fine drawings of Mr. Arthur Rackham are a sufficient raison d'etre for their appearance in this new form. Most of the designs appeared as line drawings in an edition issued by the present publishers 1899, but have since been worked over, revised, and coloured by the artist, while some entirely new designs have been added." Shakespearean contents include: "The Tempest; A Midsummer Night's Dream; The Winter's Tales; Much Ado About Nothing; As you Like It; The Two Gentlemen of Verona; The Merchant of Venice; Cymbeline; King Lear; MacBeth; All's Well That Ends Well; The Taming of the Shrew; The Comedy of Errors; Measure for Measure; Twelfth Night, or, What you Will; Timon of Athens; Romeo and Juliet; Hamlet, Prince of Denmark; Othello; and Pericles, Prince of Tyre." Made in Great Britain at The Temple Press, Letchworth, Herts. 304 pages. Insured post.. First Edition Thus. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. Illus. by Rackham, Arthur. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" Tall.
