An octavo of 8 by 5 inches with the cloth at the head and heel of the spine rubbed and with the cloth over the tips of the boards worn through. Without a dust jacket. 136 pages of text illustrated with a frontispiece from a black and white photograph of the author and with line art drawings by John L. Cassidy. A collection of 23 short stories of the Sierra Mountain region. Orginally published in 1900.
