The rear cover has been pierced, leaving a hardly noticeable pin point sized hole, extending to several pages. The dust jacket is crinkled at the top of the front cover and has a 1/4 by 2 inch open tear on the spine. The author tells of her life on Texas farms, describing everyday activities. There is much attention paid to the great variety of animal and insect life native to Texas and to other phases of natural history..
