New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1941. Hardcover. First Edition, First Printing. Octavo (8vo). viii. 347pp. Publisher's cloth boards. Signed by the author on the half-title page: 'with best wishes, Jonathan Daniels.' The author, a proud North Carolinian, was White House press secretary to both President Roosevelt and Truman. NEAR FINE in Very Good dust jacket protected in a removable archival cover. The book itself shows one corner just lightly tapped, else Fine/As New. The dust jacket shows some chipping and loss from the spine, shelf rubbing along the edges with some shallow chips, panels lightly rubbed, price-clipped, otherwise is bright, colorful, and distinct. As pictured.
