Chicago: A. C. McClurg, 1918. First Edition. Very good in its original green cloth covered boards with tarnished gilt text on the spine and with bright gilt text on the front board. A 12mo of 7 1/4 by 5 inches with the cloth worn through over the tips of the boards and a very slight concave appearance to the spine.. Without its issued dust jacket. 350 pages of text followed by two leaves of ads for other Burroughs titles. Illustrated with a frontispiece and 7 plates from paintings by J. Allan St. John. The contents are clean, tight and free of foxing, tanning or any prior ownership markings of any kind.
