Dedication page reads, "By permission of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of York these Songs are dedicated to The Princess Elizabeth." The Duchess of York at this time was the Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, who became Queen when her husband, Prince Albert, acceded to the throne as George VI in 1936. The book was dedicated to The Princess Elizabeth, now Her Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth II, who was born in 1926.

Cream coloured oblong paper title to front boards showing what appears to be Pooh Bear musing over a large newspaper on the ground. Contains excellent line drawings by E.H.Shepard and music by H.Fraser-Simson. All pages are present and correct and remain in well preserved condition throughout.The book is tightly bound and has been well looked after over the years. Housed in the sea green dustwrapper with contrasting dark blue title lettering and charming decoration to front and back panel. Two large hairline tears but importantly the dustwrapper remains intact. Light wear and overall signs of handling commensurate with age but this surely rates as one of the more presentable examples of the very scarce dustwrapper.
