Sewell, Chile: Teniente Publishing Company / Braden Copper Company, 1915. First. Hardcover. Near Fine. Bound volume of 12 issues of the 'Teniente Times' an in-house organ paid for by the Braden Copper Company for their employees. Published in Sewell, Chile and printed by the Teniente Publishing Co. Although it started out as a monthly periodical, the schedule quickly changed and started to put one or two months between each issue. The first issue here is June 1915 (Volume 1, Number 1) and the last is December 1916 (Volume 1, Number 12). Text in Spanish and English. Original wraps bound-in. Hardcover, 4to., leather-backed boards, gilt title. Filled with b&w photos showing the working conditions and employees as well as the country at-large. Many great illustrated ads for Chilean business that were trying to showcase their goods to the visiting Americans. Near Fine. Minor shelfwear to the binding. Bookseller's ticket (La Casa Americana in Santiago, Chile) affixed to front pastedown. The Braden Company founded the town of Sewell in 1906 when they moved in to mine copper.
