About This Item
(Greenwich Workshop Press, CT. 1912). First Edition. Oblong Folio. . Signed on the half-title by Terpning and Brown. 183pp. which includes an index of paintings and awards, illustrated in color. Terpning's subject matter is largely the Native people of the Great Plains. Brown's commentary is far more concerned with Terpning's technique and process as an artist, which has won him several awards. Stuart Johnson of Settlers West Gallery wrote the introduction and Apiniokio Peta (Darrell R. Kipp), a member of the Crow tribe and longtime friend of Howard Terpning penned the foreword. Copies signed by both Terpning and Brown are scarce. Bound in beige cloth lettered in blind, spine plain, in unclipped pictorial dust jacket. Near fine.
