Austin: Texas State Historical Association, 1943. First Edition. Very good. Large 8vo. 43 pp. with illustrations throughout. Original yellow illustrated cloth (no dust-jacket as issued); endleaves a trifle foxed. NOT EX-LIBRARY. First Edition, one of 440 copies. The Santa Rita blew in on May 28, 1923, marking an obvious turning point for the University of Texas. The resulting eruption transformed the Forty Acres and forever changed West Texas. Carl Hertzog was the designer, and Tom Lea the illustrator. Our copy is unnumbered. ¶ Lowman 23.
