About This Item

Macmillan, 1914. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Volumes I and II, set complete in two volumes. 1914, 1919. Volume I: 692pp, with numerous illustrations, charts, diagrams etc in text. Volume II: 592pp, with numerous illustrations, charts, diagrams etc. text. Both volumes uniformly bound in deep green cloth-covered boards with blind rules and gilt titles on spine. 8vo. A large and very heavy set which will likely incur an additional charge for overseas delivery. Boards for both volumes just a little worn and marked, gently rubbed and rounded at corners and spine ends. Some dust marking on text block edges. Volume II a little sunned on spine and front hinge cracked, resulting in some loosening and small tear in front free endpaper; Volume one a little loose. Authoritative reference work on embryology of the early part of the 20th century, now hard to find, especially as a complete set.
