This is the 1871 reprint of the first edition of 1809 that contains Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss's (1777-1855) famous calculations of the orbits of asteroids and other bodies orbiting around the Sun. Also included his description of least-squares. 290, [3] pp. 4to. Recent, half-leather binding with brown leather spine, five raised bands, gold embossed titling, brown marbled paper boards. Interior clean and tight. Ex-library with two ink stamps on title page. Text in Latin.
