Thirteen short stories, including 'The Devil and Daniel Webster' and 'By the Waters of Babylon' the former was adapted in 1941 for the big screen under the same name. The latter is a somewhat well known post-apocalyptic piece. Benet was a Pulitzer prize winner. The book has a litle edgewear to the jacket and a couple of chips and tears, with some discolouration to the rear. From the collection of Frederick Baldwin Adams with his plate to the front pastedown. Adams was the director of the Morgan library in the 1950s and 60s. [11026, Hyraxia Books]. . Very Good.
