1250. No Binding. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Single leaf from a decorated manuscript Bible, with a historiated initial showing Baruch writing, in Latin on parchment [northern France (Paris), mid thirteenth century] Single leaf, with an initial E (opening Et hec verba libri the opening of the book of Baruch) formed of soft pink bars heightened with white penwork enclosing the author as a medieval scribe seated at an elevated desk holding a pen and perhaps also a knife, all on blue grounds, another initial in same colours, and one on reverse in simple blue with long and scrolling red penwork filling the entire central gutter, red rubrics, double column, 50 lines in a tiny university bookhand, some slight oxidisation to face of figure, else in excellent condition, 185 by 125mm.
