About This Item
London: Swan Sonnenschein, Le Bas and Lowrey, 1885. 1st Edition. Burgundy Cloth. Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 80pp. A very scarce edition. Gilt embossed lettering to the front board. Rubbing to the board edges, significant in places, not affecting the title. Light bumps to the head and tail of the spine. The spine is lightly sunned. Patchy fading and rubbing to the front and rear boards with some associated soiling. A small soil mark to the front paste down and end paper. A slight tide mark to the top corner of the front end paper and a pencil word has been rubbed out, leaving a light indentation. Loss of 3 cm to the top corner of one of the front end papers with the slightest of loss to the last letter of one word. Not title page. Slight soil mark to the title page. Splitting between pp 32 and 33. Slight splitting to the rear inner hinge, from the head of the spine for 6cm - the board still remains firmly attached. Light mottling to the inner margins of pp 48 - 49 and a few pages have the odd light finger soiling to them. The book remains tight. A light crease to the corner of pp46, where is has previously been turned. The corner tips of a few pages are very slightly creased. A good copy.
