A presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper: "To John Francis Neylan with sincere regards Gabriel Wells. New York May 1st 1936", and with Neylan's handsome bookplate to the front pastedown (Neylan was a noted Californian lawyer and trusted counsel to William Randolph Hurst). 8vo. 91pp. Black cloth lettered and ruled in gold at the spine. Tissue-protected portrait frontispiece. Top edge gilt. A fine copy in non-price-clipped dust wrapper, lightly spotted and chipped, and a little tender at the natural folds.
