A clean, unmarked and firmly bound copy. Pages crisp and fine. Hardcover of mustard colored cloth with title gilt-stamped on spine is fresh and unworn. Binding and hinges tight and straight. Unclipped jacket lightly edge worn with creasing and short tears to top edge of front panel and at base of spine. Artist Elton Clayton Fax (1909-1993) life's journey brought him from a childhood in American urban slums to international recognition, including an invitation from Soviet Writers to visit Moscow and Uzbekistan. In Africa he toured Uganda, Northern Sudan, Ethiopia and Tanzania.
