Except for "Conversation Piece", all the articles in this book appeared originally in The New Yorker in somewhat different form.
Hardback, 1952, US first edition, published by Simon and Schuster, New York, 346 pages.
Dust jacket is scuffed, rubbed, a little marked and has a few slight tears. Paper and cloth boards and spine which are very clean, though with small signs of shelf-wear and slight creasing to spine. Binding quite firm. Page edges deckled, a little tanned and scuffed but quite clean. Upper edge has deliberate black hue. A little marking to endpapers and front free endpaper contains lengthy gift inscription. Otherwise page surfaces very clean, with no marginalia, underlining, etc. See pictures for further information.
