Observations on a two week field trip to Lhasa and southern Tibet in the Spring of 1980 with his wife. S. Dillon Ripley ( 1913-2001) distinguished American ornithologist was then Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, a position he held from 1964 to 1984..
