Author Pamela Logan traveled into Tibet in an arduous four-year effort beginning in 1994 that was focused on Tibetan monasteries to try to save Tibet's cultural and artistic heritage from severe decay. Pamela Logan has not only a Ph.D. in aerospace, but she is a martial arts expert. She has previously studied practices among warrior tribes in eastern Tibet and chronicled them in Among Warriors: A Martial Artist in Tibet (1996).
